Spectators: 161 (Terracing: 121, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Christian Meys took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ferdinánd Nagy kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Rudy Panhuijsen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ottó Gyarmati went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Lennert Van Meerbeec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without István Földes having to interfere. After 17 minutes, Tamás Kossuth mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gyál United and the Brugge United players grew even worse after the yellow card. István Földes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dries Dirckx. István Földes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Christian Meys showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 19 minute of play. Camiel Hennes lost his temper 25 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Gyál United a penalty, 26 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ferenc Vass, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Brugge United's Rudy Panhuijsen. 1-2. 29 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when János Döbrögi came free, but Rudy Panhuijsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rudy Panhuijsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Róbert Vajda in the 32nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Gyál United's zone, Jochen Diericx stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. István Földes came out of the goal and Jochen Diericx tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lennert Van Meerbeec struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. István Földes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brugge United. If Jochen Diericx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferenc Boros hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Tibor Kerékgyártó's late challenge caught a Brugge United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tibor Kerékgyártó helped the player get up and apologised. 2-2 came through a penalty shot after 49 played minutes, when Brugge United:s Dries Dirckx calmly waited for Gyál United:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tamás Kossuth stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lennert Van Meerbeec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without István Földes having to interfere. István Földes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Douglas Isebergh in the 58th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute Jochen Diericx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but István Földes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Gyál United's goal looked a bit too open when Lennert Van Meerbeec came free, but István Földes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lennert Van Meerbeec might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over István Földes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lennert Van Meerbeec ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jochen Diericx during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jochen Diericx kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Brugge United's Rudy Panhuijsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ottó Gyarmati in the 76th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Gyál United's zone, Douglas Isebergh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. István Földes came out of the goal and Douglas Isebergh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jochen Diericx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. István Földes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. István Földes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lennert Van Meerbeec in the 91st minute of play. With a little luck, Brugge United's Rudy Panhuijsen got control of the ball when Róbert Vajda tried to sneak it across the goal line. Douglas Isebergh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
