Dirk Tollenaar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 12 played minutes FC Bal op het Dak got a freekick which was hit by Jan Rein Helwig. Sjors Kolkman struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Taco Neeskens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Underdogs. Taco Neeskens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sjors Kolkman went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Taco Neeskens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sjors Kolkman's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Taco Neeskens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carsten van Wonderen, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Dirk-Jan Akkerman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edwin Batum in the 21st minute. Taco Neeskens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carsten van Wonderen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerard Mulder in the 25th minute of play forced The Underdogs's goalkeeper Dirk-Jan Akkerman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Bal op het Dak's Taco Neeskens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sjors Kolkman in the 28th minute of play. Edwin Batum received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Dirk-Jan Akkerman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Bal op het Dak's Taco Neeskens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chuck Wood in the 35th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, FC Bal op het Dak's goal looked a bit too open when Sjors Kolkman came free, but Taco Neeskens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gerard Mulder came free with the goalkeeper in the 44th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dirk-Jan Akkerman could save by the left post. Taco Neeskens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carsten van Wonderen in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gerard Mulder was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in FC Bal op het Dak's zone, Bjorn Veltman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Taco Neeskens came out of the goal and Bjorn Veltman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 63 minutes into the match, Edwin Batum had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dirk-Jan Akkerman. The Underdogs's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edwin Batum was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When FC Bal op het Dak's Gerard Mulder in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Dirk-Jan Akkerman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sjaak Saarloos went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. FC Bal op het Dak's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
