In the 3rd minute, Roman Ryabin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 4 played minutes, The Underdogs's Huib van Zanten shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dmitriy Sidorov came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in The Underdogs reached it. Bjorn Veltman hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. A nice corner shot did that Frits Velez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dmitriy Sidorov quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Corné Knopper kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Grigoriy Gerson hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute of the match Frits Velez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dmitriy Sidorov skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of FK Amur booed when The Underdogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frits Velez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dirk-Jan Akkerman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nikolay Seliverstov in the 36th minute. 37 minutes into the match, FK Amur's goal looked a bit too open when Carsten van Wonderen came free, but Dmitriy Sidorov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46thth minute of the game Bjorn Veltman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FK Amur's Dmitriy Sidorov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carsten van Wonderen scored 1-1 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dmitriy Sidorov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 80 minutes of play, The Underdogs's Sjors Kolkman made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dmitriy Sidorov was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bjorn Veltman in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
