With a little luck, FC Draconia's Jelle Roels got control of the ball when Bart Speelman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Birger Struelens's late challenge caught a FFC Merainies 03's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of FFC Merainies 03 booed when FC Draconia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornelis Van De Ven didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nigel Willemse in the 15th minute of play forced FC Draconia's goalkeeper Jelle Roels to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Van Maestricht scored 0-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabrice Bemmel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 21st minute, Alfons Ceulemans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bart Speelman scored 1-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jelle Roels, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Christian Van Maestricht had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fabrice Bemmel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Van Maestricht, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in FC Draconia's zone, Bart Speelman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jelle Roels came out of the goal and Bart Speelman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The wind increased when Christian Van Maestricht made the kick off in the second half. FFC Merainies 03's Fabrice Bemmel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Van Maestricht in the 54th minute of play. A collision led to FFC Merainies 03 getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Gerrie Höhenstein hit a great ball. Fabrice Bemmel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christian Van Maestricht in the 60th minute.
