Christian Schollens's late challenge caught a Ágætis Byrjun's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christian Schollens helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when Beek City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Schollens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beek City's Thierry Lenaerts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Buys in the 4th minute of play. After having played for 5 minutes, Robin Willemsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ágætis Byrjun's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robin Willemsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 6 minutes into the game, Ágætis Byrjun's Edgar Buys nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thierry Lenaerts made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 12th minute Sam-Lucas Van Achteren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ab Veenema saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Ax in the 14th minute of play forced Beek City's goalkeeper Thierry Lenaerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 17 minutes, Natan Rouvoet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beek City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Natan Rouvoet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Ágætis Byrjun defense, Natan Rouvoet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ab Veenema. The Ágætis Byrjun fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ab Veenema should have stopped the shot. Edgar Buys might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thierry Lenaerts. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgar Buys ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 29th minute of the match Edgar Buys shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thierry Lenaerts showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

Ab Veenema showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natan Rouvoet in the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute Natan Rouvoet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ab Veenema saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 59 minutes of play, Beek City's Natan Rouvoet made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ab Veenema was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when Beek City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfons Declercq didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 66 minutes of play Beek City's Christian Schollens was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when Beek City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Schollens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Natan Rouvoet scored 4-2 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ab Veenema, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Ágætis Byrjun's zone, Natan Rouvoet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ab Veenema came out of the goal and Natan Rouvoet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ágætis Byrjun! Ab Veenema had in the 78thth minute some difficulties stopping Natan Rouvoet's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 81 minutes into the game, when Michael de Kort put in a rough tackle. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ágætis Byrjun! In the 82nd minute there was a penalty for Beek City. Natan Rouvoet stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ab Veenema. 5-2. A throw-in in the 86th minute of the game was made by Taco Westerink with Lucien Daems as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After having played for 88 minutes, Natan Rouvoet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beek City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Natan Rouvoet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Beek City had won after a very even match.
