Spectators: 207 (Terracing: 156, Seating: 47, VIP seats: 4) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Klement Dupal took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 5th minute, Tibor Barmoš left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AFK Petržalka fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Tibor Barmoš had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ab Veenema. Ágætis Byrjun's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tibor Barmoš was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miroslav Brezník in the 17th minute of play forced Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Ab Veenema to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ab Veenema made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Klement Dupal in the 19th minute of play. After 20 played minutes Ágætis Byrjun got a freekick which was hit by Robin Willemsen. After having played for 21 minutes, Tibor Barmoš managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFK Petržalka's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tibor Barmoš was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22nd match minute, AFK Petržalka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miroslav Brezník to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Klement Dupal got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Ivan Adamčík took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Ax, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brain Diest charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brain Diest the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A hard shot 31 in the game by Edgar Buys from a close distance when the talented Ivan Adamčík managed to make a qualified save. AFK Petržalka's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tibor Barmoš in the 42nd minute of play forced Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Ab Veenema to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, AFK Petržalka's Ivan Kaľavský seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ivan Kaľavský the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of AFK Petržalka protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ivan Kaľavský had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of AFK Petržalka:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ágætis Byrjun:s goal. After the first half AFK Petržalka were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edgar Buys was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Tomáš Nickler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 57th minute, Lucien Daems hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tibor Barmoš sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgar Buys recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Taco Westerink kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when AFK Petržalka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miroslav Brezník didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brain Diest fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Adamčík having to interfere. 78 minutes in the game, Tibor Barmoš fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ab Veenema having to interfere. Edgar Buys recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ab Veenema made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tibor Barmoš in the 81st minute. If Brain Diest had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Edgard Ax notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of AFK Petržalka's Ivan Adamčík. Ivan Adamčík was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The AFK Petržalka players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
