Hubert Ottens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 7 minutes, Tomáš Nickler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AFK Petržalka and the Albertus FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th minute, Tomáš Nickler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hubert Ottens struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Ivan Adamčík didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Albertus FC. 17 minutes into the game, Tibor Barmoš was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFK Petržalka's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Albertus FC the free kick. In the 38th match minute, AFK Petržalka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomáš Nickler to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Ferdi Merenga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gert Hebert kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Miroslav Brezník got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to AFK Petržalka getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Bohdan Jedlík hit a great ball. In the 48th minute, Gert Hebert sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and AFK Petržalka's Ivan Adamčík didn't even have to move. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Klement Dupal made a kick off. Frits Platvoet hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After 55 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Klement Dupal. In the 56th match minute, AFK Petržalka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klement Dupal to maneuver through the defense. After 58 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Klement Dupal. Ferdi Merenga hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Tibor Barmoš could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Ger Tollenaar made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Albertus FC's Edgard Schiphouwer got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After 65 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Tibor Kavecký. The referee felt a red card was in order, 69 minutes into the game, when Ivan Kaľavský put in a rough tackle. Ivan Adamčík had in the 71stth minute some difficulties stopping Gert Hebert's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Ferdi Merenga sped through AFK Petržalka's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ivan Adamčík. 86 minutes into the game, Yorrick Zwaanswijk threw the ball into play from the sideline. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. AFK Petržalka walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
