A collision led to Barra EC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Leonardo Guerra hit a great ball. Henrique Gomes's late challenge caught a EDI MZB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rômulo Camargo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Belmiro Sanches went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 7th minute, Geovani Mandrak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tarcisio Gerber made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Rafa Almeida sent off a good shot on target. Edinho Carvalho scored 1-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tarcisio Gerber, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafa Almeida got free with Tarcisio Gerber in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hortêncio Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Rômulo Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The wind increased when Hortêncio Passos made the kick off in the second half. Rômulo Camargo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belmiro Sanches in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute, EDI MZB's Hortêncio Passos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rômulo Camargo. Rômulo Camargo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Rômulo Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilvan Faria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 60 minutes, Belmiro Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. EDI MZB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Belmiro Sanches was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 1-3 became the score in the 61st minute when Belmiro Sanches elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Hortêncio Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Camargo having to interfere. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind EDI MZB's goalkeeper Tarcisio Gerber, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Barra EC's Rômulo Camargo got control of the ball when Hortêncio Passos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hortêncio Passos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rômulo Camargo came out and tried to block the shot, but Hortêncio Passos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 77th minute. When the match was over EDI MZB could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Barra EC throughout the match.
