Ernani Dracena's late challenge caught a Calesso FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernani Dracena helped the player get up and apologised. Pedro Paulo Cruz struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Giovani Moura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jardim Botânico. 12 minutes into the match, Calesso FC's goalkeeper Giovani Moura had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Paulo Cruz. Ademar Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adhemar Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Erasmo Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Pedro Paulo Cruz scored 1-0 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giovani Moura, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Calesso FC's Giovani Moura got control of the ball when Pedro Paulo Cruz tried to sneak it across the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 54th minute, Serginho Hoffmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Calesso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Paulo Cruz came free, but Giovani Moura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adhemar Valle in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ademar Leme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Calesso FC's zone, Serginho Hoffmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovani Moura came out of the goal and Serginho Hoffmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 66 minutes into the match, Calesso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir Almeida came free, but Giovani Moura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Walmyr Bezerra kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Erasmo Valle scored 1-2 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ademar Leme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Serginho Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani Moura having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Jardim Botânico's goalkeeper Ademar Leme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hermínio Vergílio. Adhemar Valles short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Ademar Leme to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The Calesso FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Calesso FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
