If Wilson Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 6 minutes, Amílton Pirani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taquaral Campineiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amílton Pirani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 25th minute, Fernando Berger reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Otávio Sanches. The goal made the score 2-0. The supporters of Taquaral Campineiro booed when Renascença A.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertinho Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Renascença A.C.'s goalkeeper Fred Freire, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jairo Jesus got free with Otávio Sanches in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fred Freire stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilson Freire's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Taquaral Campineiro's Otávio Sanches proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Taquaral Campineiro from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Taquaral Campineiro's Otávio Sanches got control of the ball when Jairo Jesus tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Renascença A.C. booed when Taquaral Campineiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilson Falcão didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute of the match Kauã Pernambucano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Otávio Sanches showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilson Freire to make the kick off. Willian Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Freire having to interfere. Taquaral Campineiro's Giovanni Valle got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilson Freire got free with Fred Freire in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fred Freire stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilson Freire's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. In the 65th minute, Albertinho Coelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Otávio Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kauã Pernambucano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Taquaral Campineiro's Otávio Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Berger in the 80th minute of play. In the 84th minute, Giovanni Valle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Otávio Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdir Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute Fernando Berger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 92 minutes, Gilson Falcão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taquaral Campineiro and the Renascença A.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Taquaral Campineiro getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Gilson Falcão hit a great ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Renascença A.C. had played much better football throughout.
