In the 5th minute, Albertinho Coelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Renascença A.C. booed when Lunáticos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fábio de Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rômulo Coelho might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fred Freire. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rômulo Coelho ran back to his position shaking his head. Durvalino Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Lunáticos FC booed when Renascença A.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Berger didn't get a good kick on the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Renascença A.C.'s goalkeeper Fred Freire had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anísio da Mata. Anísio da Mata hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Edu Camargo kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. A collision led to Renascença A.C. getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Valdir Gaspar hit a great ball. Valdir Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Durvalino Donatello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Anísio da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fernando Berger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Durvalino Donatello made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Fernando Berger put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Durvalino Donatello. Valdir Gaspar charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdir Gaspar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 70 played minutes Renascença A.C. got a freekick which was hit by Valdir Gaspar. 79 minutes into the match, Lunáticos FC's goalkeeper Durvalino Donatello had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valdir Gaspar. Durvalino Donatello came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Renascença A.C.'s Fernando Berger. But to his dismay, Fernando Berger quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, Renascença A.C.'s Albertinho Coelho got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 92nd minute, Renascença A.C.'s Luiz Guilherme Monteiro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Luiz Guilherme Monteiro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Renascença A.C. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Luiz Guilherme Monteiro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 91 minutes into the game, one of Renascença A.C.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
