After a defensive mix-up in FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's zone, Jairo Jesus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Miranda came out of the goal and Jairo Jesus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fred Freire acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 28th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Serginho dos Santos. When Jairo Jesus fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Renascença A.C.'s protests and gave Jairo Jesus a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Renascença A.C.'s Jairo Jesus got a free kick in the 30th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Renascença A.C.'s Valdir Gaspar slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Thiago Miranda. That made the score 0-6 after 97 minutes of play. Renascença A.C. played a much better game than FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA and deserved their victory. The FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
