The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes AF CERRADO got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Loyola. When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Lino Araújo sped through Pombal 2003 F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gilson Arósio. Gilson Arósio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matías Lima went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Cícero Ribeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Gil Seco made a huge save. Gilson Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lino Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to AF CERRADO getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Waldemar Loyola hit a great ball. Luizinho Domingues charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luizinho Domingues the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute, Luizinho Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 31 minutes, Bruno Lago mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pombal 2003 F.C. and the AF CERRADO players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bruno Lago hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. During the 37th minute of the match Bruno Lago completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bruno Lago a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Gilson Arósio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matías Lima in the 39th minute of the match. Toninho Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilson Arósio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lino Araújo in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lino Araújo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cícero Ribeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gil Seco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. If Lino Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matías Lima succeeded in the game's 66th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4. Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Gilson Arósio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Pombal 2003 F.C. from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cícero Ribeiro in the 76th minute of play forced AF CERRADO's goalkeeper Gil Seco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
