César da Mata started the match with the kick off. Vitinho Bastos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César da Mata in the 3rd minute of the match. The corner ended in Vito Velloso almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Flamengo FSCMZ's Vitinho Bastos did a great save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jairo Martins during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, TIMETER EC -DMZ-'s Jairo Martins got a free kick in the 13th minute. Wágner Vergílio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Monteiro having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benjamim Saraiva got free with Falcão Monteiro in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, TIMETER EC -DMZ-'s Rogério de Mendonça got a free kick in the 30th minute. With an all-out effort, Flamengo FSCMZ's Falcão Monteiro threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eusébio Andrade, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. TIMETER EC -DMZ-'s Falcão Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Nascimento in the 45th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Celso Nascimento to make the kick off. Vitinho Bastos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Corrêa in the 63rd minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, Rogério de Mendonça cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Vitinho Bastos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Franklin das Neves fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flamengo FSCMZ's protests and gave Franklin das Neves a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Vito Velloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. TIMETER EC -DMZ-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Vito Velloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vitinho Bastos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. César da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eusébio Andrade hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by César da Mata in the 82nd minute of play forced Flamengo FSCMZ's goalkeeper Vitinho Bastos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
