In the 33rdth minute of the game Caco Matos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jenipapo SC's Kaká Lopes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 35th match minute, Jenipapo SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovani Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. After 36 played minutes Jenipapo SC got a freekick which was hit by Cafu Catarinense. A collision led to Botafogo AP getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Edson Tavares hit a great ball. Gilmar de Mendonça dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Tomás Passos hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Wanderson Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilmar de Mendonça having to interfere. Botafogo AP's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
