Spectators: 150 (Terracing: 113, Seating: 34, VIP seats: 3) João Francisco Mota started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. João Francisco Mota recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 10 played minutes Mexilhão F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Olívio Maranhense. Cafu Catarinense took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelinho Matorin. Marcelinho Matorin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Mexilhão F. C.'s José Paulo Costa got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute of the match Percy Lopes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcelinho Matorin skillfully saved the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Jenipapo SC's Cafu Catarinense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcelinho Matorin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Couto in the 21st minute of play forced Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Marcelinho Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelinho Matorin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Couto came free, but Marcelinho Matorin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexilhão F. C.'s José Paulo Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcelinho Matorin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wanderson Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. In the 47th minute, José Paulo Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Jenipapo SC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cafu Catarinense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Percy Lopes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jenipapo SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexilhão F. C. the free kick. Percy Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. A hard shot 59 in the game by Cafu Catarinense from a close distance when the talented Marcelinho Matorin managed to make a qualified save. Mexilhão F. C.'s players were relieved. Wanderson Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelinho Matorin having to interfere. Marcelinho Matorin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cafu Catarinense in the 65th minute. After 68 played minutes Mexilhão F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Cesinha Figueiredo. Edu Siqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Lopes having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cafu Catarinense came free, but Marcelinho Matorin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Jenipapo SC booed when Mexilhão F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Trevisan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Percy Lopes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cafu Catarinenses short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Marcelinho Matorin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 85 minutes of play, Mexilhão F. C.'s Edu Siqueira made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kaká Lopes was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 89th minute of the match, Cafu Catarinense tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marcelinho Matorin saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tomás Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
