Ronaldão dos Santos came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Independente FC's Zé Carlos de Azevedo. But to his dismay, Zé Carlos de Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The Independente FC fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Independente FC's Zé Carlos de Azevedo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Zé Carlos de Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independente FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Carlos de Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronaldão dos Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aírton Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Ronaldão dos Santos came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Independente FC's Zé Carlos de Azevedo. But to his dismay, Zé Carlos de Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Zé Carlos de Azevedo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronaldão dos Santos having to make a save. In the 22nd minute, Ezequiel Barral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Quebra Ossos FC booed when Independente FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Carlos de Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Carlos de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Independente FC's Nestor Quintal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Independente FC from getting a goal against them. Independente FC's Ezequiel Barral got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Carlos de Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Ronaldão dos Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independente FC. After the first half Independente FC were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Ronaldão dos Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos de Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. When Aírton Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quebra Ossos FC's protests and gave Aírton Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. Aírton Queirós hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Benedito Trancoso took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ronaldão dos Santos. Quebra Ossos FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. During the 53rd minute of the match Aírton Queirós completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Aírton Queirós a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Aírton Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Carlos de Azevedo in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronaldão dos Santos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zé Carlos de Azevedos short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Ronaldão dos Santos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Zé Carlos de Azevedo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Ronaldão dos Santos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. José Vítor Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Ronaldão dos Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute of the match, Zé Carlos de Azevedo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ronaldão dos Santos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 74 minutes, Carlos Augusto Galvão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quebra Ossos FC and the Independente FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Independente FC booed when Quebra Ossos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Augusto Galvão didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Zé Carlos de Azevedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronaldão dos Santos was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Ezequiel Barral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Ronaldão dos Santos made a huge save. A collision led to Independente FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. José Vítor Rodrigues hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute, Eliézer Sarmento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Vítor Rodriguess short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Ronaldão dos Santos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Quebra Ossos FC's Ronaldão dos Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Carlos de Azevedo in the 87th minute of play. Quebra Ossos FC's Ronaldão dos Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Quebra Ossos FC from getting a goal against them. Zé Carlos de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle sounded Independente FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Quebra Ossos FC.
