After 4 minutes, Frederico Barbosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portuguesa and the Tenha Dó Dó Dó players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th match minute, Portuguesa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frederico Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Tenha Dó Dó Dó getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Alexandre de Barros hit a great ball. Frederico Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Régis Loureiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Marcel Paraense charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcel Paraense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Tenha Dó Dó Dó's Cauan Gaúcho got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 25 minutes of play, Tenha Dó Dó Dó's Cauan Gaúcho made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giovani de Amaral was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Tenha Dó Dó Dó's Vitório Silveira got a free kick in the 28th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Acácio Teles made a kick off. The supporters of Tenha Dó Dó Dó booed when Portuguesa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Régis Loureiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frederico Barbosa in the 56thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
