Werneck FC - DMZ's Breno Zonta got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Portuguesa's Giovani de Amaral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Portuguesa from getting a goal against them. Giovani de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caco Corrêa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Virgílio Toledo got free with Giovani de Amaral in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 16 minutes into the match, Portuguesa's goal looked a bit too open when Caco Corrêa came free, but Giovani de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Lauro Gerber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Virgílio Toledo got free with Giovani de Amaral in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st minute Breno Zonta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovani de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giovani de Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caco Corrêa in the 24th minute of the match. Válter Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 30th minute, Werneck FC - DMZ's Virgílio Toledo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Giovani de Amaral. Giovani de Amaral yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Giovani de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breno Zonta in the 34th minute of play. Giovani de Amaral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Caco Corrêa's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. When Marcel Paraense fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Portuguesa's protests and gave Marcel Paraense a yellow card for diving instead. After 42 played minutes Portuguesa got a freekick which was hit by Marcel Paraense. The supporters of Werneck FC - DMZ booed when Portuguesa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válter Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the game, Francisco Macedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Werneck FC - DMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portuguesa the free kick. After a rather tough play, Werneck FC - DMZ's Francisco Macedo got a free kick in the 45th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caco Corrêa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Werneck FC - DMZ's goalkeeper Zé Paulo Fernandez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Virgílio Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Werneck FC - DMZ fully deserved thier win.
