When Claudinei Almeida fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Edson Futebol Clube's protests and gave Claudinei Almeida a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th match minute, Edson Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Ramiro Paulista's late challenge caught a Edson Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ramiro Paulista helped the player get up and apologised. Ramiro Paulista hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute, Edson Futebol Clube's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nicolas de Medeiros fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. José Pedro Santos made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Nicolas de Medeiros sent off a good shot on target. When Válter Eger fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quandus's protests and gave Válter Eger a yellow card for diving instead. Válter Eger hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Dalmo da Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramiro Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Edson Futebol Clube's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
