Jânio Saldanha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Brasil having to make a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Diego Costa to strike the kick off in the second half. Arlindo Goiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remo Montenegro in the 54th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Remo Montenegro notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Edson Futebol Clube's Arlindo Goiano. Arlindo Goiano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
