Geovânio Toscano's late challenge caught a Santo Amaro AC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geovânio Toscano helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Geovânio Toscano hit a great ball. Eusébio Albuquerque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovânio Toscano, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After a rather tough play, Santo Amaro AC's Sandro Barreto got a free kick in the 11th minute. After 13 played minutes Santo Amaro AC got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Garcia. Luiz Eduardo Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Acácio Cabral struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Haroldo Recife didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santo Amaro AC. Luiz Eduardo Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Santo Amaro AC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Beto Maciel hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute of the match Remo Carneiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eusébio Albuquerque skillfully saved the ball. Haroldo Recife didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sandro Barreto went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 38 minutes into the game, Santo Amaro AC's Sandro Barreto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Haroldo Recife made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Thanks to some nice moves Sandro Barreto could shoot a difficult shot in the 48th minute, which Haroldo Recife however easily saved by the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandro Barreto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ricardo Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geovânio Toscano had several of the Santo Amaro AC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 60 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Eusébio Albuquerque as he didn't even see the shot coming. Luís Fabiano Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Albuquerque having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Fabiano Figueiredo got free with Eusébio Albuquerque in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eusébio Albuquerque was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Luiz Eduardo Domingues. Eusébio Albuquerque made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fabiano Figueiredo in the 80th minute of play. With his leg Eusébio Albuquerque managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Geovânio Toscano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Santo Amaro AC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Fabiano Gaspar hit a great ball. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Santo Amaro AC had won, even though Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- had held more of the ball.
