Tony Ferraz hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. The supporters of Santo Amaro AC booed when Inter Gala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mané Perez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Acácio Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Faustão Hermes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. With 21 minutes on the clock, Mané Perez commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 20 minutes into the game, one of Inter Gala:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 28 played minutes Santo Amaro AC got a freekick which was hit by Juninho Valadares. After a defensive mix-up in Santo Amaro AC's zone, Basílio Ferraz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Albuquerque came out of the goal and Basílio Ferraz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44th match minute, Inter Gala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurício Cruz to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Santo Amaro AC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Basílio Ferraz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eusébio Albuquerque showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basílio Ferraz in the 59th minute of the match. The supporters of Santo Amaro AC booed when Inter Gala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Almir Mandrak didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Basílio Ferraz came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Inter Gala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Ferraz couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giuseppe Fonseca in the 67th minute of play forced Santo Amaro AC's goalkeeper Eusébio Albuquerque to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Basílio Ferraz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anderson Donatello in the 83rd minute of play forced Inter Gala's goalkeeper Faustão Hermes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Inter Gala's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Garcia came free, but Faustão Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santo Amaro AC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Inter Gala's much stronger midfield.
