Nilton Berger acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 5th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Oswaldo Recife. 7 minutes into the match, AVAÍ F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when John Mendes came free, but Ronaldo Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Oswaldo Recife got a free kick in the 8th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertinho Lucas in the 10th minute of play forced MAGNIFICOS.FC's goalkeeper Nilton Berger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Bernardinho Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When John Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the MAGNIFICOS.FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that John Mendes couldn't finish the play. AVAÍ F.C.'s Ronaldo Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Mendes in the 24th minute of play. Nilton Berger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Albertinho Lucas in the 25th minute. After some careless play in the MAGNIFICOS.FC defense, Ediberto Bertassi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nilton Berger. The MAGNIFICOS.FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nilton Berger should have stopped the shot. Nilton Berger made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Albertinho Lucas sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albertinho Lucas got free with Nilton Berger in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nilton Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertinho Lucas in the 38th minute of play. In the 44th minute, Albertinho Lucas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AVAÍ F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After having played for 47 minutes, Albertinho Lucas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AVAÍ F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Albertinho Lucas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lúcio Eger to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Albertinho Lucas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilton Berger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nilton Berger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco de Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 59 minutes into the game, Albertinho Lucas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Nilton Berger was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 62nd minute of the match Oswaldo Recife shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nilton Berger showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Bernardinho Fernandes's late challenge caught a AVAÍ F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardinho Fernandes helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, MAGNIFICOS.FC's Bernardinho Fernandes got a free kick in the 70th minute. Armandinho Mello was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 71 minutes into the match. A collision led to MAGNIFICOS.FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Armandinho Mello hit a great ball. In the 74th minute, Oswaldo Recife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute, John Mendes made a precise shot to the right of Ronaldo Matos. AVAÍ F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. After 84 minutes of play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Telmo Sarmento made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nilton Berger was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nilton Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertinho Lucas in the 88th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Albertinho Lucas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AVAÍ F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1.
