Paulão Tasso started the match with the kick off. In the 6th minute, Joinville United - FSCMZ's Alfredão Moreira seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alfredão Moreira the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Joinville United - FSCMZ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alfredão Moreira had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Ronaldo Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reinaldo Barral in the 15th minute of the match. Reinaldo Barral struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Ronaldo Matos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Joinville United - FSCMZ. Reinaldo Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reinaldo Barral in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronaldo Matos saved AVAÍ F.C. from getting behind. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Reinaldo Barral sped through AVAÍ F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ronaldo Matos. Reinaldo Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 47 minutes into the game, Joinville United - FSCMZ's Luan de Sousa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronaldo Matos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2.

The supporters of AVAÍ F.C. booed when Joinville United - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilson Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Serafim Paraíba got free with Ronaldo Matos in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Serafim Paraíba blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronaldo Matos having to make a save. Serafim Paraíba's late challenge caught a AVAÍ F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Serafim Paraíba helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Joinville United - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Serafim Paraíba hit a great ball. After 69 played minutes Joinville United - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Afonsinho Munhoz. In the 69th minute of the match Oswaldo Recife shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cauan Arce showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, AVAÍ F.C.'s Ronaldo Matos got control of the ball when Luan de Sousa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ronaldo Matos was out of position in the 74 minute of play, and Reinaldo Barral capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Reinaldo Barral really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Reinaldo Barral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronaldo Matos having to make a save. 79 minutes into the game, Gugu Ortiz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ronaldo Matos. Gugu Ortiz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Reinaldo Barral's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ronaldo Matos firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Serafim Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AVAÍ F.C.'s Ronaldo Matos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save AVAÍ F.C. from getting a goal against them. Ronaldo Matos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinaldo Barral in the 98th minute. When the match was over Joinville United - FSCMZ could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AVAÍ F.C. throughout the match.
