In the 16th minute Wágner do Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clóvis Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Sipo EC's Célio Cardoso in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tribos's goalie prevented a goal. Valdir Dracena lost his temper 18 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The Sipo EC fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when Sipo EC's Wágner do Valle looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Marquinhos Pitta kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd match minute, Sipo EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. If Tomé Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Tribos's zone, Tomé Queiroz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clóvis Damião came out of the goal and Tomé Queiroz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th match minute, Tribos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tarcisio Motta to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tarcisio Motta was the one to do the kick off. Manoel Bittencourt took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ernani Cerezo. Sipo EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Tribos's Clóvis Damião got control of the ball when Agostinho Tasso tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 58 minutes, Oséas Pirani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sipo EC and the Tribos players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Tribos getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Hudson Ortiz hit a great ball. Hudson Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani Cerezo having to interfere. Clóvis Damião showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agostinho Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. A collision led to Tribos getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Lenílson Baiano hit a great ball. Agostinho Tasso was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 72nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Tribos's zone, Tomé Queiroz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clóvis Damião came out of the goal and Tomé Queiroz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Agostinho Tasso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Damião having to interfere. Sipo EC's Agostinho Tasso got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomé Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wágner do Valle struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Clóvis Damião didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sipo EC. After 94 played minutes Tribos got a freekick which was hit by Manoel Bittencourt.
