Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelinho Antunes in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maurício Sarmento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maurício Sarmento was a little too slow when Bernardo Galvão got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 1-0. 19 minutes into the game, Marcelinho Antunes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Maurício Sarmento was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 25th minute, Zé Roberto Bittencourt made a precise shot to the right of Maurício Sarmento. Diamante Negro DK - VV's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Walmir Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamílton Cardozo in the 28th minute of the match. Washington Diniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Maurício Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maurício Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Washington Diniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelinho Antunes in the 39th minute of play forced Diamante Negro DK - VV's goalkeeper Maurício Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Washington Diniz struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Maurício Sarmento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SANTOS Indaiatuba F.C.. A collision led to Diamante Negro DK - VV getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Alexandre Tepedino hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After having played for 52 minutes, Marcelinho Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SANTOS Indaiatuba F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelinho Antunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Diamante Negro DK - VV's goal looked a bit too open when Washington Diniz came free, but Maurício Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Diamante Negro DK - VV's Raúl Dias got a free kick in the 57th minute. Maurício Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Roberto Bittencourt in the 58th minute of the match. Marcelinho Antunes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maurício Sarmento having to make a save. Walmir Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hamílton Cardozo in the 66th minute of play. Diamante Negro DK - VV's Maurício Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelinho Antunes in the 74th minute of play. Bernardo Galvão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Sarmento having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelinho Antunes in the 77th minute of play forced Diamante Negro DK - VV's goalkeeper Maurício Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurício Sarmento stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelinho Antunes's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. 90 minutes into the game, Olavo Hermes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Diamante Negro DK - VV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SANTOS Indaiatuba F.C. the free kick. In the 90th match minute, Diamante Negro DK - VV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olavo Hermes to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Diamante Negro DK - VV defense, Zé Roberto Bittencourt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maurício Sarmento. The Diamante Negro DK - VV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurício Sarmento should have stopped the shot. There was no doubt that SANTOS Indaiatuba F.C. were the better team. SANTOS Indaiatuba F.C.'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
