Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Deivid Vinhas in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Vieira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vitório Baiano hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Tadeu Correia made a precise shot to the right of Juan Vieira. Relyn Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 23rd minute Vitório Baiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruy Loureiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Vieira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deivid Vinhas in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Soares in the 45th minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Ruy Loureiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ruy Loureiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leopoldo Soares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 88th minute, Relyn Futebol Clube's Alfredo Reis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ruy Loureiro. Ruy Loureiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. Ruy Loureiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vitório Baiano in the 91st minute. Enio de Amaral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Ruy Loureiro made a huge save. The Relyn Futebol Clube supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Relyn Futebol Clube would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
