Dráuzio Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gugu Tasso in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jean Leite saved Sagarana Clube from getting behind. A collision led to Proteu getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Bernardinho Corrêa hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the game, Adelino Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sagarana Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Proteu the free kick. After 8 played minutes Sagarana Clube got a freekick which was hit by Adelino Andrade. After a rather tough play, Proteu's Gugu Tasso got a free kick in the 9th minute. Jean Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gugu Tasso in the 12th minute of play. When Iuri Vinhas fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sagarana Clube's protests and gave Iuri Vinhas a yellow card for diving instead. Sagarana Clube's Jean Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardinho Corrêa in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tostão Goiano in the 32nd minute of play forced Proteu's goalkeeper Dida Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Proteu's Bernardinho Corrêa in 43 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Jean Leite guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Jean Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardinho Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gugu Tasso to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Sagarana Clube's César Carioca got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Jean Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gugu Tasso in the 54th minute of the match. After 54 played minutes Sagarana Clube got a freekick which was hit by Tostão Goiano. In the 56th minute Gugu Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Proteu's Gugu Tasso got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gugu Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Proteu's Edmundo Gomes got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Sagarana Clube's Jean Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gugu Tasso in the 74th minute of play. Franklin Aguiar's late challenge caught a Proteu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Franklin Aguiar helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Sagarana Clube getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Franklin Aguiar hit a great ball. Edmundo Gomes kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the game, Proteu's Gugu Tasso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jean Leite made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Dida Mazza made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Adelino Andrade sent off a good shot on target. Gugu Tasso scored 2-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jean Leite, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Proteu were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Sagarana Clube for a fine match.
