After some careless play in the Diamante Negro DK - VV defense, Deivid Vinhas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Caco Mattos. The Diamante Negro DK - VV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Caco Mattos should have stopped the shot. In the 19thth minute of the game Deivid Vinhas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Diamante Negro DK - VV's Caco Mattos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Caco Mattos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid Vinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Diamante Negro DK - VV's zone, Deivid Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caco Mattos came out of the goal and Deivid Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 30 minutes, Leonardo Medeiros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montevideo and the Diamante Negro DK - VV players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Montevideo! When the match had been going on for 31 minutes, Diamante Negro DK - VV's Davi Luis got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ruy Loureiro. Diamante Negro DK - VV's Dário Teles suffered a sore thigh after 33 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 33 minutes into the game, Zé Carlos Tróia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Montevideo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Diamante Negro DK - VV the free kick. Diamante Negro DK - VV's Maurício Sarmento was substituted for Dário Teles. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Deivid Vinhas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Tadeu Correia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montevideo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. In the 60th minute, Olívio Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 66 in the game by Deivid Vinhas from a close distance when the talented Caco Mattos managed to make a qualified save. Diamante Negro DK - VV's players were relieved. 68 minutes into the match, Deivid Vinhas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Caco Mattos. Diamante Negro DK - VV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Deivid Vinhas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-7. Ruy Loureiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurício Sarmento in the 73rd minute of the match. Sílvio Luiz Ceresso took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ruy Loureiro. Montevideo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, Emílio Bittencourt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 94th minute, Diamante Negro DK - VV's Júnior da Silva seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Júnior da Silva the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Diamante Negro DK - VV protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Júnior da Silva had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Diamante Negro DK - VV fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! In the 96th minute there was a penalty for Montevideo. Tadeu Correia stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Caco Mattos. 2-8. The Montevideo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Montevideo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
