Christiano Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th match minute, Desportiva Paulo Afonso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renatinho Braga to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute of the match Ismael Mattos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Olavo Vasconcelos skillfully saved the ball. Raí Reis hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

With an all-out effort, LauerArmy's Olavo Vasconcelos threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jarbas dos Santos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Fernandinho Paes fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Desportiva Paulo Afonso's protests and gave Fernandinho Paes a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Desportiva Paulo Afonso's Fernandinho Paes got a free kick in the 55th minute. With a little luck, Desportiva Paulo Afonso's Olavo Vasconcelos got control of the ball when Cipriano Pombal tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 59 minutes, Hélder Trigo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Desportiva Paulo Afonso and the LauerArmy players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Garcia in the 65th minute of play forced LauerArmy's goalkeeper Christiano Fontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 66 played minutes LauerArmy got a freekick which was hit by Cipriano Pombal. After some careless play in the LauerArmy defense, Renatinho Braga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christiano Fontes. The LauerArmy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christiano Fontes should have stopped the shot. LauerArmy's Christiano Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renatinho Braga in the 83rd minute of play. Christiano Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Garcia in the 85th minute of play. In the 87th minute Francisco Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiano Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christiano Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elivélton Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Desportiva Paulo Afonso fans cheered their team off the field, for while LauerArmy had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
