After a rather tough play, Sport Club Mavericks's Dito Ferraz got a free kick in the 4th minute. Luiz Gustavo Eger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredão Mesquita in the 6th minute of play. Rony Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Telmo Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Telmo Tasso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Rony Paiva made a huge save. 13 minutes into the game, Chiquinho Silva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sport Club Mavericks's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Templários MZC the free kick. A collision led to Sport Club Mavericks getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Chiquinho Silva hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Jânio de Barros kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rony Paiva. That made the score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sport Club Mavericks's Hílton Cruz got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute of the match Telmo Tasso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rony Paiva showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredão Mesquita in the 21st minute of play forced Templários MZC's goalkeeper Luiz Gustavo Eger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Jânio de Barros reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rony Paiva. The goal made the score 2-0. Davi Rossi scored 2-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Gustavo Eger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 30 minutes of play, Templários MZC's Romário Nóbrega made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rony Paiva was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 40th minute Alfredão Mesquita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Gustavo Eger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 43 minutes, Caco Valadares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Templários MZC and the Sport Club Mavericks players grew even worse after the yellow card. Caco Valadares hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredão Mesquita made a kick off. Luiz Gustavo Eger was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alfredão Mesquita showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-3 in the 55 minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Templários MZC's goalkeeper Luiz Gustavo Eger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredão Mesquita. In the 61st play minute Alfredão Mesquita came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Luiz Gustavo Eger. 3-4. Denílson Sampaio kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. With a little luck, Templários MZC's Luiz Gustavo Eger got control of the ball when Alfredão Mesquita tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chico Salles during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 70th minute, Chico Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romário Nóbrega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Rony Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Hílton Cruz fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sport Club Mavericks's protests and gave Hílton Cruz a yellow card for diving instead. Rony Paiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jânio de Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 77 minutes into the game, Sport Club Mavericks's Alfredão Mesquita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luiz Gustavo Eger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-5. In the 80th minute, Romário Nóbrega made a precise shot to the right of Rony Paiva. Sport Club Mavericks's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-5. Templários MZC's Luiz Gustavo Eger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Templários MZC from getting a goal against them. In the 87th minute, Sport Club Mavericks's Fred Vides seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Fred Vides the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sport Club Mavericks protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Fred Vides had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, Sport Club Mavericks's Fred Vides got a free kick in the 88th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Templários MZC's Marquinhos Vianna tried to score from far away in the 89th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The Templários MZC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sport Club Mavericks's performance. The match ended with a win for Sport Club Mavericks.
