The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. TaTeRo Boys's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Simão Sena 5 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Eliseu Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 11 minutes into the game, Gonçalo Sampaio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A A Arizona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave TaTeRo Boys the free kick. A collision led to A A Arizona getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Gonçalo Sampaio hit a great ball. Hermínio Velosos short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Breno de Carvalho to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tarcisio Terra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Breno de Carvalho made a huge save. The supporters of TaTeRo Boys booed when A A Arizona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cido Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Simão Sena dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Breno de Carvalho, 3-0. 27 minutes into the game, A A Arizona's Hermínio Veloso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Breno de Carvalho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Breno de Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélio de Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Tarcisio Terra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 44 minutes, Eliseu Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. TaTeRo Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseu Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Breno de Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão Sena in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Simão Sena took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Breno de Carvalho. Breno de Carvalho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Carlos Mendonça in the 58th minute of play forced A A Arizona's goalkeeper Ademir Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermínio Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Breno de Carvalho having to interfere.
