After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Baltazar Gaúcho to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Baltazar Gaúcho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Célio Mendonça was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. In the 80th minute of the match, Olavo Luz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Juarês de Amaral saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tiaguinho Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Célio Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltazar Gaúcho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute Giovani Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baltazar Gaúcho in the 98th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Célio Mendonça prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Guará FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
