Spectators: 154 (Terracing: 116, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tiaguinho Pirani got the match started through his kick off. Guará FC's Cristóvão Mattos got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Guará FC's zone, Percival Marinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Célio Mendonça came out of the goal and Percival Marinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sérgio Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Célio Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 played minutes Guará FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fabiano Netto. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eurico Mazza in the 27th minute of play forced Guará FC's goalkeeper Célio Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caio dos Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristóvão Mattos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Maverick Futebol Clube defense, Cristóvão Mattos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Caio dos Santos. The Maverick Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Caio dos Santos should have stopped the shot. 43 minutes into the game, Guará FC's Cristóvão Mattos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Caio dos Santos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

54 minutes into the match, Guará FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Dante came free, but Célio Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 55 played minutes Guará FC got a freekick which was hit by Kléber de Barros. In the 57th minute Sérgio Dante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Vander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 68th match minute, Maverick Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Rossi to maneuver through the defense. After 70 played minutes Guará FC got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Cabral. If Eurico Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Célio Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sérgio Dante, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 84th minute, Eurico Mazza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maverick Futebol Clube's Eurico Mazza got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Maverick Futebol Clube booed when Guará FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olavo Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guará FC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Maverick Futebol Clube's much stronger midfield.
