The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Caskinha Esporte Clube's zone, Nando das Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 18th match minute, Caskinha Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cacá Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. Umberto França showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Edson Ortiz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Umberto França. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Edson Ortiz sped through Caskinha Esporte Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Umberto França. Umberto França showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edson Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute.
