Spectators: 153 (Terracing: 115, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Afonso Baiano started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Coice de Mula's Pedro Lucas got control of the ball when Afonso Baiano tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 5 played minutes Coice de Mula got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Luiz Novaes. Pedro Lucas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Fernando Barros's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Vito de Brito notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Villa Verde FC's Igor Camargo. Igor Camargo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The throw-in from Claudinei Duarte in the 12th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Coice de Mula's João Vítor de Mendonça. A collision led to Coice de Mula getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Hudson Veloso hit a great ball. In the 16th minute Afonso Baiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Lucas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Willian Vergílio struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Pedro Lucas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villa Verde FC. Pedro Lucas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Fernando Barros in the 19th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Willian Vergílio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Lucas. That made the score 1-1 in the 23 minute of play. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Coice de Mula's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcelo Alagoano was slow to take the kick. During this time Villa Verde FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Villa Verde FC's Marcelo Alagoano to fire away a dangerous shot which Pedro Lucas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Willian Vergílio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Lucas having to make a save. In the 41st minute, Afonso Baiano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Villa Verde FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Marcelo Alagoano hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Luís Fernando Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jardel Mula to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Baiano in the 58th minute of play forced Coice de Mula's goalkeeper Pedro Lucas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Coice de Mula getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Paulão Quintal hit a great ball. In the 60th minute, Marcelo Alagoano sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Coice de Mula's Pedro Lucas didn't even have to move. Coice de Mula's Pedro Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fernando Barros in the 63rd minute of play. After 64 played minutes Coice de Mula got a freekick which was hit by Joel Rezende. The supporters of Villa Verde FC booed when Coice de Mula was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hudson Veloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Coice de Mula's Edvaldo Soares managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Horácio Ceresso in the 72 minute of the game. In the 75th minute Afonso Baiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Lucas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Coice de Mula's Pedro Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fernando Barros in the 83rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Coice de Mula defense, Afonso Baiano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Lucas. The Coice de Mula fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Lucas should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Villa Verde FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Coice de Mula had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
