Spectators: 154 (Terracing: 116, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dráusio Toscano started the match with the kick off. When Wanderson Fernandes fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Cruzeiro FC's protests and gave Wanderson Fernandes a yellow card for diving instead. Wanderson Fernandes kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Real Cruzeiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dráusio Toscano came free, but Ivo Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benedito Nóbrega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júnior Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 7th minute of the match, Ademir Carvalho got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ivo Amaral was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Benedito Nóbrega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júnior Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 13th match minute, Real Cruzeiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldo Vianna to maneuver through the defense. Ivo Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dráusio Toscano in the 14th minute. After a rather tough play, Galo do Japi's Kléber Koehler got a free kick in the 15th minute. Júnior Salles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ademir Carvalho during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 17 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Ademir Carvalho. Ronaldo Vianna kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Ademir Carvalho scored 1-0 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivo Amaral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ivo Amaral made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Luís Madureira sent off a good shot on target. Júnior Salles's late challenge caught a Galo do Japi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Júnior Salles helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd match minute, Real Cruzeiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júnior Salles to maneuver through the defense. Ivo Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráusio Toscano in the 32nd minute of the match. Dráusio Toscano scored 3-0 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivo Amaral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 37thth minute of the game Dráusio Toscano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Cruzeiro FC's Ivo Amaral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 43 minutes into the game, Galo do Japi's Ademir Carvalho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivo Amaral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Ivo Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráusio Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Real Cruzeiro FC's Ivo Amaral got control of the ball when Ademir Carvalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gonçalo Sarmento to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Galo do Japi getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Diogo Breckenfeld hit a great ball. 56 minutes into the match, Real Cruzeiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Denílson Urbano came free, but Ivo Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute Dráusio Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Júnior Salles hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. A collision led to Real Cruzeiro FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Júnior Salles hit a great ball. Denílson Urbano charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Denílson Urbano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a little luck, Galo do Japi's Benedito Nóbrega got control of the ball when Luís Guilherme Cabral tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Galo do Japi getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Orlando Arruda hit a great ball. In the 70th minute Ademir Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 71 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Novaes. After a rather tough play, Real Cruzeiro FC's Gonçalo Sarmento got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After 77 minutes of play, Galo do Japi's Dudu Alagoano made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivo Amaral was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Galo do Japi booed when Real Cruzeiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Falcão Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kauã Damião took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ivo Amaral. Real Cruzeiro FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 84th minute, Luís Guilherme Cabral ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benedito Nóbrega was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. Ivo Amaral came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Galo do Japi's Denílson Urbano. But to his dismay, Denílson Urbano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. 93 minutes into the game, Galo do Japi's Dudu Alagoano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivo Amaral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-1. In the 96th minute, Orlando Arruda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivo Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Galo do Japi fans cheered their team off the field, for while Real Cruzeiro FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
