Club Sacode Football CIMZ's Haroldo Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovani Vieira in the 2nd minute of play. In the 9th minute, Falcão Nóbrega got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Joélson Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 16 played minutes Club Sacode Football CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by Oséas das Neves. Club Sacode Football CIMZ's Haroldo Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovani Vieira in the 18th minute of play. After 20 played minutes Club Sacode Football CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by Oséas das Neves. In the 21st minute of the match Zeca Garcia sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Haroldo Pitta skillfully saved the ball. Zeca Garcia's late challenge caught a Club Sacode Football CIMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zeca Garcia helped the player get up and apologised. José Paulo Xavier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amauri Romero in the 37th minute of the match. When Oséas das Neves was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 40 minutes had been played. The supporters of Club Sacode Football CIMZ booed when Rio Verde F.C CIMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Germano Domingues didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haroldo Pitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovani Vieira, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joélson Donatello stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Rio Verde F.C CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Negri to maneuver through the defense. After 61 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Club Sacode Football CIMZ! After having played for 69 minutes, Falcão Nóbrega managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Falcão Nóbrega was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amauri Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, Club Sacode Football CIMZ's goalkeeper Haroldo Pitta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joélson Donatello. After 92 minutes of play Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Zeca Garcia was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a defensive mix-up in Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's zone, Tony Veiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Paulo Xavier came out of the goal and Tony Veiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 96th minute Benedito Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Paulo Xavier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Rio Verde F.C CIMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rio Verde F.C CIMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
