Leonel Varela kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After 25 minutes of play, Lupere FC - DMZ's Zé Augusto Mineiro made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eliseu Toscano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luisinho Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adilson Tavares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Lupere FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Paulo Tinoco came free, but Walmir Leme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Capibaribe Stars defense, Zé Augusto Mineiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eliseu Toscano. The Capibaribe Stars fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eliseu Toscano should have stopped the shot. Sandrinho Pinho charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sandrinho Pinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Capibaribe Stars getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Sandrinho Pinho hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Capibaribe Stars's Evandro Barbosa got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Capibaribe Stars's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Lupere FC - DMZ had won, even though Capibaribe Stars had held more of the ball.
