In the 5th minute, Aílton Mota made a precise shot to the right of Telmo Trigo. A.A. Francana's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Oséias Aguiar's late challenge caught a A.A. Francana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oséias Aguiar helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of A.A. Francana booed when Gracie Barra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oséias Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franklin de Almeida got free with Leopoldo Queirós in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leopoldo Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evandro Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Aílton Mota blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Telmo Trigo having to make a save. Francana getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Franklin de Almeida hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Franklin de Almeida was the one to do the kick off. Baltazar de Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Telmo Trigo having to interfere. João Adolfo Ferraz charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Adolfo Ferraz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. João Adolfo Ferraz hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, A.A. Francana's Wilton Romero got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 65th minute, Gracie Barra's Aílton Mota dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. Aílton Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Telmo Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Gracie Barra's Aílton Mota dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. Hélio Reis hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After 86 minutes, Arnaldo Ramos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the A.A. Francana and the Gracie Barra players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Gracie Barra booed when A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Telmo Trigo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aílton Mota. A collision led to A.A. Francana getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Franklin de Almeida hit a great ball. Telmo Trigo came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Gracie Barra's Aílton Mota. But to his dismay, Aílton Mota quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. Denílson Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, João Adolfo Ferraz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gracie Barra's supporters rose to their feet, but João Adolfo Ferraz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Telmo Trigo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gracie Barra eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
