After 2 played minutes Capivara FC got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Lopez. In the 3rd match minute, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Délio Coelho to maneuver through the defense. 5 minutes into the match, Humberto Andrade notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Capivara FC's João Francisco Viana. João Francisco Viana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, Capivara FC's João Francisco Viana got control of the ball when Humberto Andrade tried to sneak it across the goal line. Otávio Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Francisco Viana having to interfere. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Antônio Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guto Bastos in the 14th minute of play. Antônio Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edvaldo Leal in the 17th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Otávio Peixoto in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Francisco Viana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th minute Edvaldo Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, Edvaldo Leal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Antônio Ferreira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Antônio Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabiano Negri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 33 minutes, Baltazar Sampaio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Capivara FC and the Clube Atl. Taquaritinga players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes Capivara FC got a freekick which was hit by Baltazar Sampaio. João Francisco Viana made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Humberto Andrade sent off a good shot on target. In the 39thth minute of the game Humberto Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Capivara FC's João Francisco Viana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Antônio Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edvaldo Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the match, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goal looked a bit too open when Baltazar Sampaio came free, but Antônio Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Francisco Viana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Andrade in the 47th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabiano Negri during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 52nd match minute, Capivara FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabiano Negri to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute, Baltazar Sampaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Francisco Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capivara FC's goalkeeper João Francisco Viana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
