Eliézer Favoretto charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Evandro Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Amadeu Koehler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 12 played minutes Ogro F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Evandro Passos. After a rather tough play, Ogro F.C.'s Albertinho Ramos got a free kick in the 13th minute. 16 minutes into the game, Monumento Sports's Joel Lopes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elói Lima made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The supporters of Monumento Sports booed when Ogro F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egídio Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Ogro F.C.'s goalkeeper Elói Lima had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joel Lopes. When Albertinho Ramos fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ogro F.C.'s protests and gave Albertinho Ramos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th minute Toninho Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elói Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Monumento Sports's Luiz Fábio Rosado quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Albertinho Ramos, made in the 31st minute of the game. Guilherme Antunes hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute Celsinho de Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Koehler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeu Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evandro Passos in the 39th minute of play.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Celsinho de Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ogro F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Celsinho de Almeida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amadeu Koehler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amadeu Koehler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evandro Passos, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. When Ogro F.C.'s Evandro Passos, in the 58th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Ogro F.C.. Ogro F.C.'s Elói Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Lopes in the 72nd minute of play. Monumento Sports's Joel Lopes got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Monumento Sports's Amadeu Koehler proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Monumento Sports from getting a goal against them. After 80 played minutes Monumento Sports got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Arruda. Amadeu Koehler made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Marcelo Alves sent off a good shot on target. After taking down the ball on Ogro F.C.'s corner Albertinho Ramos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Amadeu Koehler quite easily take care of the ball. Evandro Passos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Amadeu Koehler when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Evandro Passos got free with Amadeu Koehler in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
