The audience thought a goal was coming when Doriva de Queirós got free with Amadeu Koehler in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Donato in the 17th minute of play forced Monumento Sports's goalkeeper Amadeu Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 23 played minutes Monumento Sports got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Arruda. Amadeu Koehler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doriva de Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute Joel Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moisés Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Doriva de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Koehler having to interfere. Toninho Arruda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Doriva de Queirós stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ's Doriva de Queirós got a free kick in the 50th minute. Nicolas Matorin made in the 52nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ's Maurinho Valadares. The crowd rose to their feet as Joel Lopes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Moisés Arce. That made the score 1-1 in the 80 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Monumento Sports's Eliézer Favoretto got a free kick in the 89th minute. Monumento Sports were furious when Márcio Nunes was red carded, 94 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 95 played minutes Monumento Sports got a freekick which was hit by Márcio Nunes. In the 96th minute, André da Fonseca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Los Colonos F.C - FSCMZ players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
