The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Belo Academy's Daniel Mazza got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Abelardo Sá kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Classe A Futebol Clube defense, Carlos Alberto Leal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silvinho Novaes. The Classe A Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silvinho Novaes should have stopped the shot. Ramiro Duarte charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramiro Duarte the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 12th match minute, Classe A Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramiro Duarte to maneuver through the defense. Paulo Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Cipriano de Mendonça hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Silvinho Novaes acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 17th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Daniel Mazza. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Alberto Leal got free with Silvinho Novaes in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubens Félix in the 19th minute of play forced Classe A Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Silvinho Novaes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Belo Academy booed when Classe A Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davi Pena didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Ramiro Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felippe Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Davi Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Eugênio Peres hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Silvinho Novaes made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Rubens Félix sent off a good shot on target. Carlos Alberto Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 42nd minute Leandro Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felippe Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Paulo Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rubens Félix to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Belo Academy's zone, Eugênio Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felippe Guerra came out of the goal and Eugênio Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 57th minute, Leandro Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leandro Barros took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Felippe Guerra. Felippe Guerra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Silvinho Novaes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rafael Passos went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Rubens Félix took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Silvinho Novaes. Silvinho Novaes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. When Vágner Palmeira fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Belo Academy's protests and gave Vágner Palmeira a yellow card for diving instead. After 75 played minutes Classe A Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Carlinhos Faria. Felippe Guerra was a little too slow when Leandro Barros got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 4-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Alberto Leal during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Belo Academy's Carlos Alberto Leal got a free kick in the 83rd minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 85 minutes into the game, when Basílio Mello put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 85th minute of the game. One of Belo Academy:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Classe A Futebol Clube:s goal. The goalkeeper, Felippe Guerra, was totally fooled by Classe A Futebol Clube's Jaime Vides, who 87 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Eugênio Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Alberto Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. After 98 minutes of play, Classe A Futebol Clube's Ramiro Duarte made it 4-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Felippe Guerra was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Classe A Futebol Clube players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Belo Academy from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
