When Oscar Veiga fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GLADIADORES's protests and gave Oscar Veiga a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to GLADIADORES getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Zeca Guimarães hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilton Viana in the 17th minute of play forced GLADIADORES's goalkeeper Doriva Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oscar Veiga took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cacá Sousa. Cacá Sousa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The supporters of GLADIADORES booed when Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adhemar Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. GLADIADORES's Flavinho Brodel shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 32nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Cacá Sousa but with some difficulty. A collision led to Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Lino Freire hit a great ball. 38 minutes into the match, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Cacá Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oscar Veiga. Doriva Prado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Deivid Moreira went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After 44 minutes, Guga Gaspar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GLADIADORES and the Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, GLADIADORES's Guga Gaspar got a free kick in the 44th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Deivid Moreira to strike the kick off in the second half. Adhemar Pinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 53 minutes into the game, Enio Moraes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GLADIADORES's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ the free kick. Enio Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. If Agnaldo Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dino Saraiva during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 67th minute, Dino Saraiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute, Adhemar Pinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. GLADIADORES made a substitution. Kléberson Leme replaced Zeca Guimarães. Enio Moraes hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Deivid Moreira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2.
