In the 7th minute, Jerônimo Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Miau Stars defense, Oscar Veiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sidney Queirós. The Miau Stars fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sidney Queirós should have stopped the shot. 15 minutes into the match, GLADIADORES's goal looked a bit too open when Dinei Carioca came free, but Doriva Prado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valdir Lopez lost his temper 19 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Miau Stars fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! Sidney Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agnaldo Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. The supporters of GLADIADORES booed when Miau Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gildo Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sidney Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dino Saraiva's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. When Rodrigo das Neves fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Miau Stars's protests and gave Rodrigo das Neves a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Miau Stars's Rodrigo das Neves got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Oscar Veiga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GLADIADORES fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Sidney Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dino Saraiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinei Carioca in the 37th minute of play forced GLADIADORES's goalkeeper Doriva Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Miau Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Dino Saraiva came free, but Sidney Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Miau Stars's Dinei Carioca dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oscar Veiga to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Dino Saraiva dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sidney Queirós, 1-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Dino Saraiva kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sidney Queirós. That made the score 1-5 in the 60 minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Dinei Carioca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Miau Stars's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GLADIADORES the free kick. After a rather tough play, Miau Stars's Dinei Carioca got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Oscar Veigas short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Sidney Queirós to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agnaldo Dias in the 65th minute of play forced Miau Stars's goalkeeper Sidney Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Miau Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Guga Gaspar came free, but Sidney Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Miau Stars's Antônio Carlos Mello got a free kick in the 68th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enio Moraes in the 70th minute of play forced Miau Stars's goalkeeper Sidney Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sidney Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enio Moraes in the 72nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Enio Moraes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sidney Queirós. That made the score 1-6 in the 72 minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, Oscar Veiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-9. Sidney Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. GLADIADORES played a much better game than Miau Stars and deserved their victory. The Miau Stars players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
