With a little luck, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Arlindo Romero got control of the ball when Fiori Ferraz tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Brazil Academy booed when ATHLETICO PRaiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Severo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Meira got free with Arlindo Romero in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Gugu Leme got a free kick in the 9th minute. 13 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Arlindo Romero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fiori Ferraz. If Alberto Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 23 minutes of play, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Virgílio Maia made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. João Azevedo was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet as Brazil Academy's Fiori Ferraz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arlindo Romero. That made the score 2-1 after 27 minutes of play. When Cido Paranaense fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brazil Academy's protests and gave Cido Paranaense a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd match minute, Brazil Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fiori Ferraz to maneuver through the defense. João Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tróia in the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Róbson Simão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by César Torres in the 52nd minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Arlindo Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arlindo Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Torres in the 56th minute of play. Thomás Massa kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Arlindo Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After 68 played minutes Brazil Academy got a freekick which was hit by Róbson Simão. In the 74th minute, Vladimir Koehler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arlindo Romero was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. A collision led to ATHLETICO PRaiano getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Chicão Vargas hit a great ball.
