An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélio da Silva in the 11th minute of play forced CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Doriva Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Edinho Favoretto dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nestor Teles, 1-1. Corumbaense F.C.'s Nestor Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabrício Miranda in the 20th minute of play.
