The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Waldir Romero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DENVER™'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave America Futebol Clube SP the free kick. In the 6th minute, Márcio Guedes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The DENVER™ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 14th minute, Nilton Sanches made a precise shot to the right of Dida Brasil. DENVER™'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 19th minute of the match, Luiz Guilherme Toscano got a very nice opportunity to score, but Zé Pedro de Queirós was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Enéas Domingues kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Márcio Guedes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Nilton Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nilton Sanches to strike the kick off in the second half. Dida Brasil stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nilton Sanches's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. DENVER™'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 56th minute, when Nilton Sanches scored to the left of an out of position Dida Brasil, making the score, 1-3. Rony Neiva was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 63 minutes into the match. Rony Neiva hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Luiz Guilherme Toscano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zé Pedro de Queirós having to make a save. In the 68th match minute, America Futebol Clube SP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perivaldo das Neves to maneuver through the defense. America Futebol Clube SP's Zé Pedro de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldir Romero in the 70th minute of play. Zé Pedro de Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Waldir Romero's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nilton Sanches during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 76th match minute, America Futebol Clube SP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilton Sanches to maneuver through the defense. Zé Pedro de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldir Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the match, America Futebol Clube SP's goal looked a bit too open when Waldir Romero came free, but Zé Pedro de Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute, Luiz Guilherme Toscano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Pedro de Queirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Zé Pedro de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldir Romero in the 95th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. America Futebol Clube SP walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
